Our second baby gave us her first real smile at six weeks. Not a gas smile. A proper one, eyes and all.
It happened at 5 a.m. during a feed I had been dreading. I was exhausted and a little teary. Then she looked up and smiled, and the whole night turned around.
They really do know how to time it.
